Meet the Team

Paul & Bern Squires are a little different to your traditional winery owners. They purchased the property in 2003, during their 10 years living in England.

Paul has a long history in Senior Local Government management in Australia and has always been passionate about community engagement and community projects. He spent his time in England working for the Mayor of London on the redevelopment of Trafalgar Square, and upon their return to Australia was Chair of the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz for 5 years.

His passion for wine has been fueled in the past 10 years resulting in a 5 year stint as Deputy Chair and Treasurer of Winemakers of Rutherglen for the past 5 years whilst becoming a Director and Partner at Buller Wines in Rutherglen.

Bern is a qualified nurse and has worked around the world in orthopedics and currently in medical waste management and infection control. She is passionate about sustainability and drives the business focus on sustainable practices, waste management and developing products from her ever-growing garden.

Together with their sons, Connor and Ryan they are building a lifestyle by the river with estate grown wines and a focus on local food. The family have sought to create a winery that people feel comfortable dropping into and enjoying life on the river.
